Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor’s Ek Villain poster copied from Hollywood film Face/Off?

A recently released poster of Sidharth and Shraddha’s upcoming film got everyone talking on the social media. However, it’s not an original creation

The new poster of Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming film Ek Villain starring Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, was released recently. And what if we tell you that it’s not an original creation?

Yes, by the looks of it, this one seems to be a copy of the poster of Face/Off, a Hollywood film that featured John Travolta and Nicolas Cage in lead roles. Just like the Face/Off poster, where you can see John and Nicolas’ face on each side, here we can see Sidharth and Riteish’s face in Ek Villain poster. The only difference in this one is Shraddha in between, separating the two.

However, this ain’t the first time when we have seen a Bollywood film’s poster bearing a stark resemblance to the poster of a Hollywood movie. Many of you might know this but the poster of Irrfan Khan-Nimrit Kaur starrer The Lunchbox, which won millions of hearts is also “inspired” from the poster of a Hollywood movie named Looper.

That’s not all. In the past too, Bollywood has copied posters from the west. These include films like Sunny Leone’s Jism 2, Himesh Reshammiya’s The Xpose, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara that starred Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, Murder 3 amongst many others.
